Community Outreach
Oriental College Kohima celebrated International Women’s Day on 8th March 2024 by initiating an outreach programme and honouring and visiting elderly women members aged 75 to 80 years and above of Christian Revival Church. The purpose was to acknowledge them on their marvellous and epic journey as a daughter, a woman, a mother, a grandmother of a family, a community, for being a pillar of strength, grace and an inspiration, and to pray for their wellbeing. A small token was also presented to them as a symbol of love and respect, for their unfailing love, fortitude and dedication.
Oriental College, Kohima celebrated “International Day of Happiness” along with the rest of the world on 20th March 2024. To mark the day the college went for an outreach programme to Kohima Orphanage and Destitute Home. Dr. Khriereizhiinuo Dziivichii Vasanth, Principal Oriental College along with Ms. Chibeni Murry Vice Principal (administrative), Teachers Association, Chaplain Ms. Ketouneino Khro and Students Executives and Class representatives of all the semester visited the Orphanage and Destitute Home. A short programme was held where Mrs. Sedevinuo Kire (HOD, Department of Tenyidie) chaired the programme, the students of Oriental College Kohima presented a special song, the children at the Orphanage Home also presented a musical piece, the Principal Dr. Khriereizhiinuo Dziivichii Vasanth introduced the event, in her speech she mentioned that ‘the most happy people in the world are those who share their happiness with others’ true happiness comes from within and that happiness is multiplied only when one shares with others. To bring about the significance of the event the college also extended acts of benevolence to the Orphanage and Destitute Home Kohima.
